The Value of Proper Instructions

At 3am I was awakened by the sound of Bekah vomiting (well... vomiting, crying and generally acting like she was dying). When I got to help her out, I stopped -- too shocked for words -- at the bathroom door.

There she was, sitting on the toilet and puking on the floor. (!!!)

I was pissed. In hindsight it's pretty funny, but at that moment I was not pleased.

"Why are you puking on the floor?" It was more of an accusation than a question.

"I'm sick."

"Yeah, I got that part. Why on the floor?"

"I had to puke."

"Why aren't you puking in the toilet?"

"I needed something to sit on!"

I decided not to say anything at that point, and began to clean up her and the floor. Several minutes later she asked, "Why are you mad? You said if I needed to puke to go in the bathroom."

"And puke in the toilet!"

"You never told me that part."

Maybe not, but I had no idea I had to explain that!

I spent the rest of the night helping her. And now, guess what? I have a fever.

However, I will be vomiting in the toilet. Thankyouverymuch.

My, what a lovely visual! :-) Hope you get better soon. And that you don't have the need to throw up in the toilet or otherwise...

Oh no, that is such a bummer, Heather. I get you on this one- I always freak out when my kids puke anywhere but in the bowl I gave them, or the toilet.
Hope you feel better soon!

Also... I was eating when I clicked on your site... decided to come back later at the first mention of vomit.
